Dunedin Import Martin Millerioux had the opportunity to spend time with the Stanley Cup when he returned home, as Christobel Huet spent his day with Lord Stanley after being the part of the winning Chicago Blackhawks team.

The Dunedin Thunder, the city’s entry in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League play out of the Dunedin Ice Stadium at 101 Victoria Blvd in St Kilda.

The New Zealand Ice Hockey League is comprised of two teams from Auckland; the Botany Swarm and the West Auckland Admirals, one team from Canterbury playing in Christchurch; the Canterbury Red Devils, and two teams from the Southern Region; the Southern Stampede who play out of Queenstown and the Dunedin Thunder.

This five team league competes in a season schedule taking place over ten rounds starting from June to early September. 2010 will be the sixth season for the NZ National League and the third season for the Dunedin Thunder.
